SUMMARY After you delete the information for a particular series on a Microsoft Excel worksheet, its corresponding marker in the chart legend will remain. To entirely remove the series from the chart (including its marker in the legend), do the following: Activate the chart. Click on the series (the correct pattern) that you want to delete. Click in the formula bar and delete its contents. Press RETURN.
