SUMMARY

When printing to an Epson LQ-500, LQ-850, or Epson LQ-1050, incorrect margins and underline placement, misaligned borders and/or shading, and other incorrect printing may occur. These problems are caused by the printer driver, EPSONLQ2.PRD and/or EPSONLQ3.PRD, not initializing the printer sufficiently. To temporarily solve the problem, set the front printer panel to Draft and 10 CPI.

To permanently correct these problems, a modification to the respective drivers must be made using the MAKEPRD utility.

The modification is made at Byte:0 of the PCSD table. Byte:0 appears in the text file as follows:

byte:0 mod:0 “[@[tA[6”

Change byte:0 to the following:

byte:0 mod:0 “[@[tA[6[P[x^@”

This problem has been corrected in Word version 5.50.
