SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for MS-DOS versions 4.0 and 5.0, the COMMENT, MESSAGE, PAUSE, QUIT, REPEAT…ENDREPEAT, and WHILE…ENDWHILE instructions, which are used in macros, cannot be used in the main document of a print merge as print merge instructions. If they are included, the following message will appear:

command: Unknown field name

The only instructions that can be used in a print merge are the ASK, SET, INCLUDE, IF…ENDIF, SKIP, NEXT, and DATA instructions.
