SUMMARY
The Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet, LaserJet Plus, and HP LaserJet 500 Plus do not support paragraph shading.
In Word version 5.00, with these printers, the message “Printer does not support shading” appears if you press F1 in the “background shading:” field of the Format Border command.
In Word version 5.50, with these printers, the Format Paragraph Borders Background Shading Percentage list box is blank.
MORE INFORMATION
To shade a paragraph, Word uses the IBM extended graphics characters, which are not available on these printers.
