MS-DOS

SUMMARY

The CHARTEST.DOC file on the Utilities 2 disk incorrectly gives ASCII character 195 the symbol for character 239 and incorrectly gives character 197 the symbol for character 241.

To correct this problem, do the following:

  1. Load the CHARTEST.DOC file into Word 5.00.
  2. Search for 195.
  3. Press END to go to the end of the line.
  4. Press BACKSPACE to delete the character.

5 Hold down the ALT key and type 195 on the numeric keypad.

  1. Repeat Steps 2-5, substituting 197 for 195.

  2. Save the document.

The CHARTEST.DOC file is used by the supplied Character_Test.Mac macro found in the MACRO.GLY file. This macro loads the CHARTEST.DOC file and asks if you want a printout of the extended characters for all fonts in the current printer driver.
