SUMMARY

If a computer is incorrectly configured to have a Drive B when one is not installed, Word may give the error message:

Document disk full

when loading. This problem can occur even if the default directory is the hard drive.

To determine whether the computer is incorrectly configured for a Drive B when one does not exist, type “B:” (without the quotation marks) at the DOS prompt. If the message “Invalid drive” is received, the computer is configured correctly. However, if the message “Insert disk for Drive B:, press any key when ready” is displayed, the computer is configured incorrectly. Consult your computer documentation or the manufacturer for proper configuration.

The error message does not occur with Word version 5.00.
