The information in this article applies to: |
- Microsoft MS-DOS operating system versions 4.00 and 4.01 |
Summary:
The Microsoft MS-DOS Packaged Product Version 4.00 REPLACE command has been enhanced in functionality by a new switch, /U, that replaces files on the target directory that are older than those in the source directory.
More Information:
The /U switch for the REPLACE command replaces only those files on the target directory that are older than those in the source directory. This switch compares the time/date stamp on the source files with that of the target files and replaces only those files that need updating. This switch may not be used in conjunction with the /A (add) switch.
This switch is not included with previous versions of the Microsoft MS-DOS Packaged Product, but there is a similar switch, /D, included with Microsoft MS-DOS Packaged Product Versions 3.20 and 3.21.
The MS-DOS REPLACE command is documented on Page 116 of the “Microsoft MS-DOS User’s Reference” manual that is packaged with the Microsoft MS-DOS Packaged Product Versions 4.00 and 4.01.
