Embedding Printer Control Codes in Multiplan 4.00 4.01 4.20 PSS ID Number: Q45220 Article last modified on 03-28-1990 PSS database name: D_MPlan

4.00 4.01 4.20

MS-DOS

Summary:

If any printer other than Text has been selected in the Print Options “printer:” field in Multiplan 4.00, 4.01, or 4.20, embedded printer escape sequences or control codes in a cell may result in inconsistent printing.

To embed printer codes in a spreadsheet, do the following:

  1. Choose Text in the Print Options “printer:” field. Text is an option that is part of the Multiplan program itself; it is not a separate printer driver file.
  2. Embed a printer code in a cell by pressing CTRL+B (which tells Multiplan that a printer code is being entered, and not a number or text).
  3. Enter the code.

Another option is to modify the printer driver using the MAKEPRD utility. Codes entered at Byte 0 within the printer driver are sent to the printer at the beginning of the spreadsheet.
