Word 5.00: Screen Corruption with VGA and CANON.SYS

Moving the mouse pointer on a system with a VGA may result in the appearance of mouse “droppings” on the Word screen if the device driver, CANON.SYS, is installed in the CONFIG.SYS file. CANON.SYS is shipped with ZSoft’s PC Paintbrush program and is used in conjunction with a Canon scanner.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word 5.00. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
