PSS ID Number: Q43860 Article last modified on 03-07-1997

====================================================================== 4.00 5.00 5.10 MACINTOSH kbprint ———————————————————————- The information in this article applies to:

  • == Microsoft Word for the Macintosh versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 ==

SYMPTOMS

If you use the Apple LaserWriter driver and print from Word version 4.0 or later while Preferences from the Edit menu is selected, the Custom Paper Size option will be unavailable.

These two options are only available while an ImageWriter is selected in the Chooser. The Apple LaserWriter driver does not support custom paper sizes.

CAUSE

If the Page Setup is chosen from the File menu in Word 3.0x, there are options for Paper Width & Height that will allow custom paper sizes. This is because Microsoft customized the Page Setup and Print options in that version. In versions 4.0 and later, Microsoft followed Apple standards for Page Setup and Print dialog options.
