Searching for Column Breaks in Word 5.00

PSS ID Number: Q41187 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

5.00

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

To search for manually inserted column breaks in Word Version 5.00, enter “^c” to find column breaks inserted with ALT+CTRL+ENTER in the “text:” field of the Search command.

Previous versions of Word searched for “^d” to find hard page breaks and/or division breaks. Word Version 5.00 does not use division breaks to manually break columns; Version 5.00 uses a new column break. This can be entered with the ALT+CTRL+ENTER key sequence. Version 5.00 uses “^d” to search for hard page breaks and division breaks, but not column breaks.
