Using the alternate video buffer on the Macintosh is not recommended by Apple's programming guidelines. Because hardware access to the Macintosh video buffer may change in the future, we recommend that you do not create applications that depend on this buffer. Using PEEK and POKE to access the alternate video buffer is not supported by Microsoft QuickBASIC for Macintosh and may result in run-time problems with your program.
