Summary:

A file in the Software/Data Library explains a method of calling assembly-language routines to save and restore text mode screens (SCREEN 0). An example is provided where a QuickBASIC program calls an assembly-language routine to store the screen in an array and calls another assembly-language routine to redisplay the screen.

This file can be found in the Software library by searching for the filename QBBSAVE, the Q number of this article, or S12095. QBBSAVE was archived using the PKware file-compression utility.

This information applies to Microsoft QuickBASIC versions 4.00, 4.00b, and 4.50; to Microsoft BASIC Compiler versions 6.00 and 6.00b for MS-DOS and MS OS/2 in real mode; and to Microsoft BASIC PDS versions 7.00 and 7.10 for MS-DOS (and MS OS/2 in real mode).
