SYMPTOMS
The fonts from charts that have been ungrouped, animated, and regrouped may lose their clarity or sharpness in PowerPoint 2002. This symptom occurs when you view the animated slides during a slideshow. After the animation completes, the font may appear thin when you compared the font to previous slides. The font may also be faint or difficult to read. This may be more noticeable when you use brightly-colored fonts such as yellow or light shades of grey. Fonts that use dark colors such as black are not affected.

The hotfix that is described in this article does not resolve this problem with all colors. Previously, only dark colors (those near black) provided the best appearance. After you apply this hotfix, dark colors, yellow, and the shades of gray that are very near to white display correctly.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
