SYMPTOMS
When you copy text that contains paragraph numbering from one document to another, the paragraph numbering disappears in the new document..
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the two documents contain custom text styles with exactly the same name but with different style settings. The custom text style in the document that you paste the text into takes precedence and therefore replaces the style that is already applied to the pasted text. When this occurs, any paragraph numbering applied to the text is lost.
