This article was previously published under Q329934

SYMPTOMS

When you try to save a new contact or when you try to print the contents of an e-mail message in the Preview pane of Outlook, you may receive the following error message, where Drive is the drive on which Outlook is installed:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime error!
Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe
R6025
Pure virtual function call.

You do not experience this symptom if you first open the e-mail message, and then print it.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if your installation of Outlook is damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, remove, and then reinstall Outlook. The following steps describe how to remove and reinstall Outlook when it is installed as a part of Microsoft Office 2000.
