MORE INFORMATION

In Word 97, you can set the indent by using the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, or for example, by using the following line of code.

    ActiveDocument.ListTemplates(1).ListLevels(1).NumberPosition =InchesToPoints(0.5)

For Word 97 documents, you can save the file, reopen the file, and see that the NumberPostion value is retained.

When you open these documents in Word 2000, the indents do not appear and the NumberPosition value is not retained.
