SYMPTOMS

When you open a checked-out document that is located in a Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server workspace, and then check in the document in Word 2002, the document opens, but the AutoOpen or Document-Open macros do not run as expected.

Additionally, you experience the same problem when you open a checked-in or published document as read-only in Word 2002, and then check it out from Word 2002.

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
