Article Last Modified on 2/2/2004

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.0 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q328688

SYMPTOMS

Attempts to upgrade from the evaluation version of Services for Unix 3.0 to the complete retail version of the product may not succeed.

You must upgrade from the evaluation version before the 120-day evaluation period expires. If you try to upgrade after the evaluation period has expired, the attempt does not succeed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, remove Services for UNIX 3.0, and then install the retail version of Services for Unix.

Microsoft generally recommends that you remove the evaluation version of a product before you install the complete version of the product.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
