SYMPTOMS
When you open a password-protected Microsoft Word document in Microsoft Pocket Word by using File Explorer, the password dialog box may not appear.
CAUSE
The password dialog box is present but is hidden behind other program windows.
RESOLUTION

MORE INFORMATION
If Pocket Word is already running, opening the new document does not make sure that the password dialog box is visible in the foreground. This problem does not occur if you use the Open command on the File menu in Pocket Word to open the password-protected file.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
