When you use the Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) version of Outlook 2002, your mail may stick in the Outbox if all of the following conditions are true:
- The "Save replies with originals" option is turned on.
- The "Send immediately when connected" option is turned off.
- You are using an Outlook profile that is configured for both an Exchange Server account and another account, such as a Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) account.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use both of the following methods.
Turn Off the "Save Replies with Original Message" Option
- Click Tools, and then click Options.
- On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options, and then click Advanced E-mail Options.
- If the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message check box is selected, click to clear this check box.
- Click OK three times to close all open dialog box windows.
Turn On the "Send Immediately When Connected" Option
- Click Tools, and then click Options.
- Click the Mail Setup tab.
- If the Send immediately when connected check box is cleared, click to select this check box, and then click OK.
Make sure that your profile is configured for only the Microsoft Exchange Server service.
