SYMPTOMS
After you install a hotfix for the Microsoft ODBC Driver for DB2 on a Microsoft Windows 95 platform, you may receive the following error:
Error 31 means "A device attached to the system is not functioning".
CAUSE
A previous hotfix (280123 Internal NetLib Error When OLE DB Data Source Is Instantiated) corrected a security issue in the Microsoft ODBC Driver for DB2 performance monitor module. However, one of the APIs that is used (SetEntriesInAcl) is not supported in the Windows 95 platform.
This behavior is not a problem on other operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98).
