IBuySpy Delivery Sample
If you are running Microsoft Windows Server, the IBuySpy Delivery sample installs three users (ASPNET, Network Service, IUSR_MACHINENAME) to the SQL Server database that is named Store. This is a change in the behavior that Microsoft Windows XP uses, where only ASPNET is installed to the Store database.
This change occurs because of increased security restrictions with Windows Server. For example:
- IUSR_MACHINENAME is the user who the device application connects to the Store database.
- Network Service is the user who the IBuySpy Delivery Web site connects to the Store database with when Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS) is running in IIS 6.0 isolation mode. In IIS 6.0 isolation mode, the default process identity for all applications is Network Service.
- ASPNET is the user who the IBuySpy Delivery Web site connects to the Store database with when IIS is running in IIS 5.0 isolation mode. In IIS 5.0 isolation mode, the process identity is configured through the .NET Framework Machine.config file. The default is ASPNET.
Pocket PC 2000 Service Pack 1 Required for Integrated Security
If you are using a Pocket PC that does not have Pocket PC 2000 Service Pack 1 installed, you may receive the following error message when you use the SQL Server connection string, "Integrated Security=true":
On a Pocket PC 2000 that already has Pocket PC 2000 SP1 installed, the connection string "Integrated Security=true" clause works fine and no error occurs.
Obsolete Path in SQL Server CE 2.0 Books Online
SQL Server CE 2.0 Books Online topic "Deploying Applications from Visual Studio .NET" describes that two .cab files are deployed to the \Program Files\SQLCE 2.0 folder on the Handheld PC. This path is obsolete. The release version of SQL Server CE 2.0 installs the SQL Server CE 2.0 .cab files to \Windows\SQLCE 2.0 folder on the Handheld PC. This change simplifies SQL Server CE deployment on Handheld PCs.
