SYMPTOMS
Either of the following symptoms may occur when you try to set the background bitmap image:
- When you change the display settings in Control Panel to Tiled, the image is not tiled.
- When you select a bitmap file that is not currently listed in the list of available background bitmap images (bitmaps that are located in the Windows folder), the Display tool in Control Panel stop working when you quit the tool, and the background bitmap is not changed.

The Control Panel code was modified to correct both of these problems.
This hotfix package includes .lib files to update the original Control Panel .lib files. The Control Panel source code is provided as public sources in the Microsoft Windows CE .NET Platform Builder Toolkit (Public\Wceshellfe\OAK\Ctlpnl\Cplmain\Screen.cpp); therefore, you can rebuild these .lib files from those sources. To completely install this hotfix, you must update the source files with the changes that are documented in the Readme file (see the section for the CPLMAIN component).
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
