SYMPTOMS
After you rename a subfolder of an Exchange 2000 public folder, an incremental update of the public folders performed by SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) is unsuccessful in updating the index catalog with the newly renamed subfolder.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you rename the public folder subfolder by using Outlook Web Access (OWA). When you rename the subfolder by using OWA, a property that SPS uses to determine whether changes have been made to the subfolder is not updated correctly. SPS cannot find the new path to the renamed subfolder and the incremental update is unsuccessful.
If you rename the subfolder by using a Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) program such as Microsoft Outlook, the incremental update is successful.
