ERROR SIGNATURE

This article describes a problem that can have the following error signatures:

where x.x.x.x is a version number later than 8.5.5104.0. Additionally, other offsets are possible.

SYMPTOMS

When you access POP3 e-mail, Microsoft Outlook stops responding after new e-mail messages arrive. You may receive an error message that is similar to the following:

Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that is similar to the error signature that is listed at the beginning of this article.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the Read Receipt Blocker feature is turned on in Microgarden Outlook Tools.

The Office Error Reporting dialog box appears when an error occurs that results in a fatal event in the program. The Office Error Reporting dialog box includes a button to send the information about the fatal event to Microsoft.
