Session Summary



In this Support WebCast session, you will learn how to set up, configure, write queries for, and troubleshoot various linked servers with Microsoft SQL Server. You will hear about the architecture of linked servers, and how to configure and then use various linked servers to access remote data sources. You will also learn common troubleshooting techniques and how to solve problems that involve linked servers.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded August 27, 2002 and presented by Bill Carroll. Bill Carroll began working with Microsoft SQL Server, version 4.2. He joined Microsoft in 1999 as a support professional in the Microsoft SQL Server product support team. His primary responsibilities include database performance issues. Before he came to Microsoft, Bill worked in IT departments for more than 10 years in consulting and training roles using Microsoft products. Bill holds MCSE, MCDBA, and MCT certifications.
