SYMPTOMS
An access violation may occur when the Rasman.dll file is run on Microsoft Windows 2000. Rasman.dll is used by Remote Access Services Manager.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if a device on the computer does not have a send buffer configured, but an attempt is made to tear down a send buffer when the device successfully finishes a security negotiation. The access violation occurs because there is not a send buffer and memory cannot be freed.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.
