The Project Mayo 'The Playa' Program Causes an Error Message in Windows XP

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Project Mayo 'The Playa' version 0.5 program, you may receive the following error message:

The Playa has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If the error message is still displayed and you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the Click Here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information similar to the following:

   theplaya.exe  1.0.0.1      divx.dll     1.0.0.1         000539b6
                

CAUSE

This issue may occur if 'The Playa' version 0.5 by Project Mayo is installed. There is a known compatibility issue between this program and the Microsoft software that is listed at the beginning of this article.
