SUMMARY

This article explains how to create a hot key that ejects the CD-ROM tray or DVD-ROM tray on a Microsoft Natural Keyboard if you are running Mac OS X.

MORE INFORMATION

To create a hot key that ejects the CD-ROM tray or DVD-ROM tray, you can assign the Eject command to another keyboard hot key. To do this, follow these steps.

NOTE: The Eject command is only available if you are running Mac OS X.

  1. Download the latest IntelliType Pro keyboard software version for Mac OS X. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
  2. Run the software setup.
  3. Restart the computer, and then open the Microsoft Keyboard control panel (in the Applications folder).
  4. Click the Other Hot Keys tab, and then click one of the hot keys. (For example, click Calculator.)
  5. Under Select a command, click Eject.

This causes the computer to eject the CD-ROM tray or DVD-ROM tray when you press CALCULATOR on the keyboard.
  6. Close the Microsoft Keyboard control panel.
