SYMPTOMS
The Tools menu unexpectedly contains a list of fonts, followed by the items that typically appear on the Tools menu. The same list of fonts appears on the Fonts menu.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps.
NOTE: In the following steps, username
is the name of the local user's Home folder.
- Open the Hard Drive:Users:
username
:Library:Preferences:Microsoft folder, and then drag the following files to the Trash:
- Office Font Cache (10)
- Word Settings (10)
- Open the Hard Drive:Users:
username
:Library:Preferences folder, and then drag the following file to the Trash:
- com.microsoft.Word.plist
- Open the Hard Drive:Applications:Microsoft Office X:Templates folder, and then drag the following file to the Trash:
- Normal
- If the behavior still occurs, drag the following folder to the desktop, and then rename it:
Hard Drive:Users:
username
