You must have an infrared device installed on your computer to complete this procedure.

The computer that is sending the files initiates the sending operation with the Wireless Link feature. The Wireless Link feature can be configured to prevent other computers from sending files to your computer.

To permit or prevent the receiving of files:

  1. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then double-click Wireless Link.
  2. On the Infrared tab, perform one of the following tasks:
    • To permit your computer to receive files from others, click to select the Allow others to send files to your computer using infrared communications check box.
    • To prevent your computer from receiving files from others, click to clear the Allow others to send files to your computer using infrared communications check box.

The initial default location for receiving files is the desktop for the current user profile.

  2. On the Image Transfer tab, click to select the Use Wireless Link to transfer images from a digital camera to your computer check box.
  3. In Transfer images to a subfolder of box, click Browse.
  4. Select a new location for images received over wireless connections, and then click OK.
