SYMPTOMS

In the Display Properties dialog box in Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), you can change the Active Window border size to 0 (zero). However, this is not a valid value, and therefore this value is never actually saved. The next time that you view this setting, the value is set to 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
