Session Summary

In this session, we will discuss how Network Discovery works in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0, how to configure it, and what is required for a resource to be discovered. Some high-level overview concepts will be presented, as well as some in-depth discussion about SNMP calls and API requests.

This is a Level 300 session that was recorded December 8, 2000 and presented by Wally Mead. Wally Mead has been with Microsoft for eight and one-half years. He started in the training organization, where he delivered training on LAN Manager. He began working with SMS in 1994, and has been involved in the development and delivery of all SMS training courses for Microsoft. He now works for the SMS product group in the Early Adopter Program (EAP) group, and provides training for EAP members.
