Session Summary



This presentation will cover the basic Full-Text Search (FTS) features and functionality introduced in SQL Server 7.0. We will discuss the Full-Text Indexing and Search processes, compare FTS results to the LIKE function. We will also talk about FTS stored procedures, FTS performance tuning, and basic troubleshooting methods.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded November 2, 1999 and presented by John Kane. John has been a Support Professional in the Microsoft SQL Server Support organization for 4 years and before that worked at startup software companies and for various Fortune 100 Chemical companies. John has over 15 years experience in the industry, developing database applications for use with different database systems and holds the MCSE certification.
