Session Summary

Microsoft Windows 2000 offers enhancements to enterprise COM+ application developers, by exposing services through COM+ as well as a new COM threading model. During this session, we will discuss these COM+ extensions, as well as how to use specific COM threading models to maximize performance and minimize bottlenecks in distributed applications. We will wrap up with a section about server components and which threading models to use in different situations.

This is a Level 300 session that was recorded May 18, 2001 and presented by Mike McKeown. Mike McKeown has been with Microsoft for over eight years and held positions in multiple organizations. Currently, Mike works as a support professional in the PSS Solution Integration Engineering team. He provides integration analysis, as well as low-level debugging assistance to customers who run both Microsoft and non-Microsoft enterprise products. Mike has given presentations at developer conferences and written many articles for MSJ, MIND, and MSDN relating to COM.
