SUMMARY

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) fixes the following Windows 2000 Internet Information Services (IIS) and COM+ bugs:

  • Access Violation in OLE32.DLL

An access violation (AV) may occur when you perform an MSWC.MyInfo query for the IMarshal interface.
  • Long Quote in FTP Command Line Causes FTP to Stop Responding

After you connect and log on by using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client program, an access violation occurs and the FTP client program stops responding (crashes) when you type the following:

    quote %s%s%s%s%s

  • IIS Does Not Log a Startup and Stop Event

This update adds the following functionality to IIS 5.0:
    • An event is logged in the System log when IIS starts. This event is logged when Windows is started, or when net start w3svc is run from the command line.
    • An event is logged in the System log when IIS stops. This event is logged when Windows shuts down, or when net stop w3svc is run from the command line.
