MORE INFORMATION

This hotfix can prevent Message Queuing from falling back to NTLM and can reduce unnecessary load on the global catalog.

By default, the service will fall back to NTLM. To disable this default setting, add the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Msmq\Parameters\OnlyMsmq2 registry value, and then set the DWORD data type to 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
