SYMPTOMS

When you use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) to create or to modify a scheduled task, you may experience any one of the following problems:

  • The Add Scheduled Task button does not appear.
  • When you double-click a scheduled task, you receive the following error message:

    General page initialization failed.
    Error 0xc0000005


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
