    -or-
  • If you click Disable Macros, Microsoft Excel quits unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you move the Users folder to another partition or hard disk that is not the Mac OS X startup disk or partition. It may also occur if the Users folder is redirected to another computer such as a server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:

  • Move the Users folder back to the hard disk partition that contains Mac OS X.

-or-

  • Reformat your hard disk to have a single partition.

MORE INFORMATION

If Mac OS X is installed on one partition, and you move your Users folder to a different partition, the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications environment does not initialize correctly. As a result, macros cannot run in the file that you open, you cannot record macros, and Microsoft Excel may quit unexpectedly if you disable macros when you open the file.
