SYMPTOMS
When you try to print a document in an Office v. X for Mac program, the document may not print. Specifically, the program may appear to have printed successfully, but the printer does not do anything. You do not receive a message that the print job was unsuccessful.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur if the Mac OS X print queue has been stopped in the Print Center.
If the print queue has been stopped, and you print from an Office v. X program, the Print command in the program works as expected and Postscript files are created, but nothing is sent to the printer. When you restart the print queue, any Postscript files that have been created are then sent to the printer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, restart the print queue.
NOTE: After you restart the print queue, any Postscript files that have been created are sent to the printer.
To restart the print queue, follow these steps:
- In the Finder, open the following folder:
Hard disk
:Applications:Utilities - Double-click Print Center.
- Double-click your printer.
- On the Queue menu, click Start Queue.
