XCCC: You Cannot Forward or Reply to an E-mail Message That Was Sent to a Public Folder

SYMPTOMS

When an e-mail message is located in a public folder, you cannot forward or reply to it using the Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) client. The Reply, Reply to all, and Forward commands are unavailable and appear dimmed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, you can forward or reply to the e-mail message by using a Microsoft Outlook client.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This behavior is by design.
