XCCC: An External Member of a Distribution List Is Not Displayed in OWA If the Distribution List Was Created by Using the Outlook Object Model

SYMPTOMS

A member of a distribution list may not be displayed if:

  • You use the Microsoft Outlook Object Model to create a distribution list in your Contacts folder. -and-


  • A member of the distribution list has an external address (for example, user@hotmail.com or user@yahoo.com). -and-


  • You view that distribution list in Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA).

If you view the same distribution in Outlook, the member is displayed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
