WD2000: Extra Lines Appear Around Hyperlinks When You Print Your Document

SYMPTOMS

If the following conditions exist, extra lines may appear around hyperlinks when you print your document:

  • You edited the document by using the Track Changes feature in Word 2000.
  • You pasted hyperlinks into your document.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Office 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.

NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, accept the changes before you print:

  1. Open the document in Word 2000.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Track Changes and then click Accept or Reject Changes.
  3. In the Accept or Reject Changes dialog box, click Accept All, and then click Yes.
  4. Click Close.
  5. Print the document.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
