To Turn Off Windows Critical Update Notification

1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
2. Click Windows Critical Update Notification, click Change/Remove, and then remove Update Component.
3. Confirm that you want to remove the component.

To Add Features from Microsoft Windows Update Manually

1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
2. Click Add New Programs, and then click Windows Update.
3. Follow the instructions on the Microsoft Windows Update Web site to locate and add new Windows features, system updates, and device drivers.
