SYMPTOMS

When you print a presentation with a slide size of 11" x 8.5" (standard slide size is 10" x 7.5"), you receive the following warning:

The slides in your presentation exceed the printable area of the paper in you printer. You can scale the slides to fit the paper or print anyway.

There are three buttons:

  • Scale and Print
  • Print Anyway
  • Cancel

This does not occur versions of PowerPoint earlier than PowerPoint 2002.

CAUSE

When you print a slide with the same size as the paper size, objects on the slide that are in the "nonprintable region" are not printed.
