SYMPTOMS

After you resume your computer, your USB mouse pointer may not move smoothly. This behavior may occur if the fixes that are described in Q305177 or Q316257 are installed on your computer.

CAUSE

With some chip sets such as the Intel ICH2/ICH3 chip sets, the USB interrupt capability is not turned back on after you resume your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
