SYMPTOMS

When you try to start the Japanese version of the BizTalk Editor, the BizTalk Mapper, or the BizTalk Orchestration Designer, the following error message is displayed:

Thank you for evaluating Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. The period for this evaluation version has ended. Please contact Microsoft or your software reseller to obtain a licensed version of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000.

CAUSE

You may receive this error message if you have previously attempted to repair your BizTalk Server installation by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.

This error does not occur if you initiate the repair by running the Microsoft BizTalk Server.msi file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Service Pack 2.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Install the Japanese version of BizTalk Server 2000.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, click Support Information, and then click Repair.


A progress bar that indicates the status of the repair is displayed, but the progress bar does not move.
