SYMPTOMS
When you successfully download the Visual Studio .NET product installation file from the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site, and then you try to install the program, you may receive the following error messages:
The error messages appear in a Command Prompt window, and then the window closes very quickly.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because one or both of the following is true:
- The installation file was corrupted during the download.
- The installation file is not complete.
RESOLUTION
Download the installation file again from the MSDN Subscribers download Web site.
NOTE: Occasionally, you can open the downloaded file by using WinZip, or another third-party utility, and then extract the contents to a location on your local hard disk from which you can install the program.
If you cannot open the file by using a third-party utility, please download the file again.
