WORKAROUND

To work around this problem:

  • Move the user's additional mailbox to the same mailbox store (you must be an administrator to do so). However, you may not be able to use this method if users have additional mailboxes in different storage groups or stores. -or-

  • If the user wants to keep the mailbox on the same store:
    1. Start Microsoft Outlook with the second user profile (for this example, User2).
    2. Open the Inbox of the first user profile (for this example, User1).
    3. On the View menu, click Current View, click Customize Current View, and then click Group By.
    4. In the Expand/collapse defaults list, click All expanded.
After you use these steps, User2 can see the e-mail messages in User1's Inbox; however, folders do not collapse when User2 clicks the minus sign (-) next to them.

NOTE: The second workaround requires a client action and does not provide full Outlook functionality.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
